Multi-language

I am one of those engineers who understand people and business. Market, value proposition, MVPs are second nature to me, and so are soft skills. It makes me effective with stakeholder management, in mediation, and in strategic plans where technology is a factor.

Efficient

Efficiency is achieving goals with minimal resources. Swiss trains lack trashbins on seats, because collection costs immensely more than the effort for passengers to walk to the head of the wagon. Efficiency is often about what not to do, and it creates agility, reliability, and motivated people.

Quantitative

Decision-making is hard. I am good at establishing decision processes that are lean, clear and accepted. They produce decisions which enjoy solid alignment and buy-in from all stakeholders. Often, they also make explicit values that were previously tribal knowledge.

A hardware/software building automation system. It controls access, temperature and fire for 1200 staff and 150 rooms across 3 sites; integrated with the company's ERP.

Mobile Time & Attendance System

A system tracking work hours and resource utilization on offshore platforms. Based on rugged mobile devices and used for incident response and automating payroll.

Ultra reliabile spam filtering IaaS

An online service protecting mailboxes from spam with a warranty of never filtering legitimate email. Based on sender-commitment challenging, processing 200 Million emails/day.

Advanced telemedicine

A cloud/desktop/firmware system for in-situ care of medical devices. It supports videoconferencing with device telemetry, tuning and software updates over-the-air for 2 Million devices.

SSHGuard

An easy-to-use system to detect and prevent security breaches on servers in real-time. It's distributed as open-source software and serves 50'000+ organizations including Google and BMW.

Global high-availability DNS IaaS

A distributed system to deliver high-availability secure DNS. Any downtime causes all client organizations to suddenly vanish from the Internet; any security breach defacement or data leak.
